COVID-19 TRANSITION GUIDELINES

THIS PAGE HAS BEEN LAST UPDATED ON 22ND DECEMBER 2021
These mitigation measures must be closely followed throughout this transition phase.   Following regulations and guidelines is obligatory.   These guidelines are subject to change based on the evolving local scenario and are in no way intended to supersede the general guidelines issued by Public Health.   Failure to comply carries consequences.

General Airfield Guidelines
Kindly note that the use of face masks and social distancing are obligatory in open spaces including the Malta Model Aircraft flying site!
Hand sanitization and wearing a mask when entering the club house or toilet.    Sanitizers shall be on site for this purpose.   Social distancing 3 (Three) meters minimum is a must and should be observed at all times.   No more than a maximum of 2 persons forming a group at any time.
Only one person at a time may enter the club house.   Entry is only allowed for signing the attendance register and or to make use of the vending machines.   Do your thing and get out to make place for the next person.   Members are advised to bring along their own ball point (Biro) to sign the attendance book.    Sitting on benches is not allowed, however members may make use of individual chairs spaced 3m (Three) from each other.   Please keep the place safe and clean.   Use sanitizers as often as necessary.
The main gate is to be kept closed all the time.   Opened by the first person in and locked by the last member out.   Entrance restricted to paid up members going there to fly only. If you are not flying on the day, the flying site is closed for you.  Please act sensibly as a team whose aim is to enjoy model aircraft activity and flying safety.    The whole area is actively being monitored by CCTV cameras for your safety.   Each and every member is held personally responsible for his actions or omissions.

Flying
Flying shall carry the normal safety regime as specified in the current published flying and safety regulations.
Flyers (and members) must observe the 3 meters social distancing (minimum) at all times.    No masks are required on the flight line, however if a flyer requires a caller, then both must wear masks.
‘No Fly Zones ’ are to be strictly observed.  Each flight must not take longer than 20 minutes followed by a break of not less than 15 minutes.

Conclusion
Members are expected to follow faithfully the above guidelines and do their utmost to promote health and safety at all times.  Self-regulation is more important than ever and indeed a desired and expected virtue.
These guidelines are subject to change according to the evolving scenario.   Do not jeopardize your health and that of your fellow member by acting irresponsibly and in a dangerous manner.
Members must carry their membership card when accessing the flying field.

Happy Landings!
